Last weekend, Ramrod celebrated its monumental 30th anniversary, marking three decades as a cornerstone of the local leather scene. From the leather-clad bartenders and the iconic poolroom to the laid-back patio, Ramrod has been home to Fort Lauderdale’s leather community for generations.

The bar went all out for its “Dirty Thirty” birthday bash, drawing in longtime patrons and newcomers alike.

The festivities began on Friday night with Fetish Friday Gear Night, kicking off at 10 p.m. as the crowd arrived in full leather and fetish gear. Saturday turned up the heat when DJ Herbie James took over the dance floor at 10 p.m., keeping the energy high. As always, Ramrod opened its doors early at 9 a.m., offering plenty of time for revelers to prepare for the night’s excitement.

The celebration peaked on Sunday, when Ramrod’s legendary patio became the ultimate spot for Sunday Funday. The Underground Wilma DJ takeover started at 4 p.m., featuring an impressive lineup of DJs including Nicotene, Mark James, Dennis Baker, Trevor Oldroyd, Bryan Hukill, Rentboy, and Pup Rockit. The patio was packed with partygoers enjoying the beats, sun, and camaraderie.

Throughout the weekend, Ramrod held cash and prize giveaways, including a coveted helicopter ride. As the clock ticked toward midnight on Sunday, the excitement reached its climax with a balloon drop, toasts, and cheers from a lively crowd celebrating Ramrod’s 30 years of success.

The Pig Dance, Ramrod’s monthly signature event, continues to be a highlight for the community. Held on the first Saturday night of every month, it welcomes everyone—pigs and non-pigs alike—with a giant inflatable pig greeting patrons at the door.

For any bar to last 30 years is a feat, but for Ramrod, it’s more than survival—it’s about thriving. As last weekend’s celebration showed, Ramrod is more than just a bar—it’s a community, a landmark, and a place where memories are made. Here’s to the next 30 years!
